AtlasFiles (“AtlasFiles”, “we”) makes a desktop app that searches and organises files on your own computer. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: your files and their contents never leave your computer.
What stays on your computer
The file index, file contents, extracted text, search queries, answers, Important Docs expiry dates and usage insights are created and stored only on your device. We cannot see them and never receive them.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign in and to tie your license to you.
- Purchase: payment status, amount, currency and any promo code used. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record; we never see or store your card details.
- Devices: for each connected computer, its name (for example “MacBook Pro”), platform, app version, when it was last seen, and one-way hashed identifiers used to recognise the same computer after a reinstall.
How we use it
Only to provide and secure your license: issuing it, connecting and removing devices, preventing misuse, providing support and meeting legal and tax obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
Supabase (database and sign-in), Netlify (website hosting) and Dodo Payments (checkout, tax and receipts) process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
AI Access
If you turn on AI Access, AI apps you choose (such as Claude or Cursor) can read files from your local index on your computer. That connection is local; we are not part of it.
Retention and your rights
We keep account and purchase records while your license exists and as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing support@atlasfilesai.com.
